Well, we finally got bids on everything and decided to scrap the project. I love this house but I don't think I can live through a remodel of this magnitude. Also, the existing house was built in 1957. We were really worried about opening the "Pandora's Box" when it came to refurbishing the older space to coincide with the new. And finally, the project was just too danged expensive!
Since, we've got 3 kids (filthy, loud, obnoxious but adorable boys) and 3 dogs, we knew we'd have to move somewhere else to accommodate us. Enter, Ginger. I told her of our dilemma and she showed us some houses. To be honest, we'd been looking on realtor.com for a while. We fell in love with one particular house. It has 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths. The master is downstairs! Woot! There is plenty of space for all of us to fan out and not be right on top of each other. Close of escrow should be the beginning of March. Here it is:
I hope I don't jinx it lol.

Wow. That is such a cute house. I love it!
Our house we just moved into has a master bedroom downstairs too and we love, love it! I don't think I ever want to go back to a upstairs master again!
Good luck. Let us know how it goes!
It is amazing. It was meant for you. You are going to love it. Also, remodels are rough on marriages; they make you want to kill your spouse. This is much better. My favorite thing was how much Victor wanted to buy this for you. Very sweet and loving.
We are soooooo excited for you guys! And dare I say, I bit jealous:) I can't wait to see it once it's closed and you're all moved in!
Where are you moving? You get an already built house - cool!! Give me some details, lady!
What a fantastic house! I love it. I am sure that a move will be a lot less stressful than a rebuild. Good luck with the move!
Good for you! It is a great house. Hopefully all goes well.
